At times, even the best-laid plans need to be adjusted, and that’s exactly what we recently experienced as we prepared for our upcoming festival. As many of you know, we were gearing up to launch under a different name, but after a discussion with peers in our community, we realized that changing our name was the right move. It was a decision rooted in respect and collaboration, values that are at the core of everything we do.
Why the Change?
In the creative world, ideas sometimes overlap. In our case, a similar event with a similar name was already established within the community. When we became aware of this, we knew immediately that the best course of action was to change our name. It’s important to respect the work of others, especially those in our own industry. We are all working toward similar goals—to elevate the arts, provide a platform for emerging talent, and bring people together. Collaboration, not competition, is what makes our community thrive.
Pivoting with Purpose
Some might view a last-minute name change as a challenge or an obstacle, but for us, it was an opportunity to pivot and grow. With the festival just three weeks away, we didn’t see this as a problem. Instead, we embraced the challenge with open arms. Our team moved quickly, coming together to ensure that everything was realigned in time for the festival. From updating marketing materials to making sure our audience was aware, it was all hands on deck.
The transition felt seamless because we kept our focus on the bigger picture—delivering an incredible experience for our artists and attendees. And while our name has changed, the heart of our mission remains the same. We’re more excited than ever to bring you an unforgettable festival.
